Students in Wodonga and surrounding areas, who identify as Aboriginal, had the opportunity to participate in the Burraja Cultural Program, run by the Burraja Indigenous Cultural and Environmental Discovery Centre in partnership with NELLEN. Over a 12-month period, ten different groups of students had the opportunity to develop their knowledge of Aboriginal culture, heritage and the environment. Each program ran for five to ten weeks and culminated in a graduation ceremony.
A film project supported students to tell their stories of their Burraja experience and skill development. Each student contributed to the filming process and received a copy of the film for showing to their friends, family and school community.
